Basic Function

Convert rolls of stretch film into pre-stretched products using pre-stretch machines.  Produce, Inspect and Pack quality rolls of stretch film for shipment to customers. Reports to Crew Leaders, Pre-Stretch Supervisor, Production Manager and Plant Manager.

Job Complexity

Duties include following work orders that provide manufacturing instructions which include packaging materials and all product specifications. Product weights, widths, and cling properties are inspected and documented in a Pre-Stretch Production Report. This is a fast-paced position that is repetitive, it requires close attention to quality of product. Must be able to perform basic math, use a calculator, read a tape measure, and lift 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts and every other weekend.

Pre-Stretch Operator Duties

• Learn and understand the operation of their machine, including loading in the master rolls and auxiliary rolls when needed.

• Make sure all products that are palletized meet or exceed company quality specifications.

• Perform all duties in a safety conscious manner and follow all safety procedures, including Lock Out, Tag Out.

• Identify problems and seek assistance to prevent output loss and excessive scrap.

• Always maintain a clean area.

• Meet or exceed daily quota for the product being produced.

• Always use the required P.P.E. when on the production floor.

• Make sure that products are packed in a neat and orderly fashion in accordance with the product set up sheet.

• Make sure that break times stay within the company guidelines.

• Adhere to the attendance guidelines and realize that attendance is very important to your shift as well as your co-workers.

• Perform various other duties as deemed necessary. Be willing to help wherever needed.
